Nacogdoches Health Partners is proud to announce Morgan Nix, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, has joined the team of family care providers.

“Morgan’s experience is impressive, and her attitude is inspiring,” said Wilburn “Eddy” Furniss, III, MD. “She really focuses on educating and engaging her patients as partners in the health care process. We’re excited to have her on the team.”

Nix grew up in Henderson and was encouraged by relatives in the medical field to pursue a nursing career. Ultimately, it was a personal experience that made up her mind.

“After my oldest son was born prematurely, he spent some time in the NICU,” she said. “The nurses were so compassionate and helped my family during a very difficult time, and I felt like I could return the favor to my future patients.”

Personal experience also led her to join the team at Nacogdoches Health Partners.

“My family and I are patients at NHP, and I received my clinical training for family practice there, so I’ve experienced firsthand the true compassion, knowledge, and professionalism of the staff and providers from both sides,” she said. “It is evident why patients continue to choose NHP for their health care needs, and I am truly thankful to be a part of that.”

Nix began her medical career as a unit secretary at Nacogdoches Medical Center and she has worked as a surgical nurse, preoperative nurse and surgical assistant. She has also worked in home health and has experience as an office nurse for a general surgeon and as a school nurse.  

After earning her Associate of Science in Nursing from Panola College, Nix graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from
Chamberlain College of Nursing. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing from
the University of Texas at Arlington. Nix is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Nix is married with four children. She attends Holly Springs Baptist Church, and
enjoys traveling, reading, concerts, fitness, watching her children play sports and spending time with friends and family.
